Nevertheless, little has been written on the specific adaptations and modulations that thematic analysis requires for use in social work research if it is to reflect the field’s specific preoccupations. Thematic analysis has gained increasing currency in various branches of social work research, such as qualitative analysis, aboriginal research, resilience studies, the practice of social work in healthcare, and minors. The present study is a six-step guide addressed specifically to students and novice researchers. This article aims to partially remedy this scarcity by examining thematic analysis methods, drawing on the authors’ experiences as social work researchers, particularly as pertains to a case study.
